Gabriel Teixidó
Industrial Designer
Born in Barcelona in 1947.
Studied at the Escuela de Artes Aplicadas y Oficios Artísticos in
Barcelona (1964 - 1969).
After a few years working in plastic arts, Gabriel Teixidó began the 70’s
as a freelance
in the area of industrial design.
He became famous by converting his ideas into long lasting commercial
success that is
usually attributed to his strongly artistic background with
a clinical eye for spotting
traditionally poorly solved problems and offering
infallible solutions.
His method of solitary working produce almost austere designs far
removed from formal
exhibitionism that have been awarded several of
several SIDI and Delta awards.
Office equipment is one of his main areas of operation. He has designed
furniture for a
large number of companies providing a certain domestic
quality without great
technological complications.

been a member
of the ADI-FAD board since 1997.
